திருக்காமீஸ்வரர் திருக்கோயில் (வில்லியனூர்)
Built in the 12th century under the patronage of Chola King Dharmabala, Sri Thirukaameeswarar Temple in Villianur is one of the grandest temple complexes in the Union Territory. The temple is historically renowned for curing illnesses and answering heartfelt prayers for prosperity and righteous desires (Kaama). The temple complex covers several acres and features an expansive 1-hectare holy tank (Theertham) blessed with underground natural freshwater springs. The shrine of Goddess Kokilambal is celebrated for divine compassion, and Saint Vallalar (Ramalinga Swamigal) composed sacred hymns praising this shrine.
Monumental late-Chola architecture featuring an imposing 7-tiered Rajagopuram, an extraordinary 15-meter tall carved wooden chariot, and monolithic granite carvings.
